DETAILS OF INCIDENT: On 08/07/2011, the Moses Lake Police Department received a report of suspicious activity in the 2300 block of Marina Drive. Officers were told that an unknown subject had been recently possessing what appeared to be a hand grenade. The subject who was believed to be a transient was no longer in the area, and the reporting party was concerned that the subject had possibly left a grenade in the residence.
The police department notified the Richland emergency ordinance disposal and requested their assistance. When they arrived, the residence was checked however no explosive items were recovered. The police department continued to investigate and late yesterday discovered the identity of the subject. The police department notified area law enforcement to attempt to locate 43 year old, Bradley J. Beavin.
Today, at approximately 11:30 A. M. Moses Lake Officers located Beavin walking on Lybbert Drive. Beavin was taken into custody without incident on local traffic warrants. No explosives have been located at this time. This incident is still under active investigation. Additionally, citizens are reminded that if they see any cylinder or spherical object that appears to be suspicious to leave the item alone and contact the police department.
