| Message From The Chief
A message from the Chief: I am proud to serve the citizens of Moses Lake and employees of the Moses Lake Police Department as your Police Chief. Our community offers many recreational opportunities for all to enjoy. We strive to maintain a safe environment for our citizens to play, work, and raise our families.
Our department recognizes the need for building and maintaining a strong relationship with the community. Developing trust and integrity is paramount in this relationship. Our mission statement and core values provide guidance to the men and women of the Police Department. They identify whom we are and how to create a partnership with our citizens. We know we can only be effective working as a team with the community when dealing with crime, traffic, and public safety concerns.
Police Department employees are dedicated individuals who strive to provide a quality police service to our customers. We pride ourselves on the relationship we have with neighboring criminal justice agencies and community organizations. We participate in various taskforces and multi-agency services throughout the greater Columbia Basin area. Examples include: MACC 911 Emergency Center, INET Drug Task Force, TRT Tactical Team, Grant County Homeless Task Force, Central Basin Traffic Safety Task Force, Grand Coulee Dam Security Agreement, Office of Family and Children Ombudsman Advisory Board, Moses Lake School District Levy Advisory Board, New Hope Domestic Violence Services, Columbia Basin Investigative Team, Columbia Basin Job Corps community Advisory Board and many other state and local organizations.
Our department is comprised of various specialized law enforcement services to meet the needs of our community. We also encourage citizens to participate in our reserve and volunteer programs, which provide many hours of valuable service.
I ask you to utilize this website to understand the types of police service we can provide. Feel free to contact me to ask questions or provide suggestions that may assist us to improve the services offered by the Moses Lake Police Department.
Sincerely,
Dean G. Mitchell Police Chief
