Inside MLPD

Your Moses Lake Police Department consists of 37 full time employees, to include 30 commissioned police officers and 7 support personnel. However, we have learned in order to fully serve our community and provide the services necessary to carry out our mission, we need to rely on our reserve police officers and volunteer staff. The information contained in this website is a summary of the programs and services we offer to our community.
You will find that our department strives to meet the needs of our citizens through Community Oriented Policing. This philosophy has been practiced for nearly a decade and continues to be the most significant and effective means of policing for our community. We have developed strong partnerships with neighboring law enforcement agencies, the Moses Lake School District, the Boys and Girls Club, and our Parks and Recreation Department. These partnerships have allowed us to address such issues as youth crimes, drug enforcement, traffic emphasis patrols, tactical concerns, and property crimes.
We have also reassessed the mission and core values of our department. We established a clear mission statement as well as values that guide the members of our department in the performance of their service.
I ask you to review the information contained in this website. I hope you find this information helpful. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or if you are interested in applying as a full time employee. You may also contact me if you are interested in serving as a volunteer our state accredited police department.

Sincerely,

Dean G. Mitchell
